What are the days/hours of food distribution?
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 12:30-1:30 pm Saturday from 1:15-2:30 pm
Is there a charge for the food?
Since we are an independent food bank and do not receive federal or state financial assistance, we ask for a $10 donation
What do I receive for the $10 donation?
You receive a banana box full of food from retailers such as Lazy Acres, Bristol Farms, Ralphs, Trader Joe’s and Chick-Fil-A (just to name a few). You also receive a bag or two of produce.
What is your address?
Our address is 18801 Crenshaw Place, Torrance, CA 90504. We are a side street off of Crenshaw Boulevard and 190th Street. Please go to the rear of the building where the roll-up doors are located and park.
Do I have to register in advance?
No, you should just complete a release of liability form that we will provide and make the $10 donation. Please be assured we do not use or sell any of the information you provide.
Do you take donations?
Yes, we take donations of non-perishable food within the best by or best use by date. We also take refrigerated and frozen items as long as they are donated quickly so they remain cold or frozen. All donations must be in original packaging and sealed.
Do you have clothes and other household items for sale?
Yes, we have a Blessing Room in the front of our building that is customarily open from 11:30-3 pm every day but Wednesday and Sunday. We offer clothes, shoes, housewares, bedding, toys, etc., and ask for a small donation to help us keep our doors open.
Do you offer a tax donation receipt?
Yes, we can provide a tax donation receipt. Please ask the representative from New Challenge Ministries and they will obtain the information to provide a tax donation receipt emailed or mailed to you.
Do you collect e-waste?
Yes, we collect e-waste at our location Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 11:30 - 3 pm. Please see a representative from New Challenge Ministries for assistance when you arrive.
